Hello, I’m Carla

I'm a storyteller and marketer who blends creativity, strategy, and execution.

My career began in journalism, where I amplified voices and shared impactful stories as a news producer for top media outlets like NBC San Diego and Al Jazeera’s AJ+. Highlights include producing NBC’s Emmy-nominated Forecasting El Niño and creating Food that Matters, a series exploring how food addresses global challenges.

Transitioning into marketing, I shifted from telling individual stories to shaping brand narratives. At Eatwith, I led U.S. marketing and global communications, managing newsletters, social media, and partnerships with brands like Masterchef USA, Tastemade, and Barilla USA. At Nextdoor, I created content to support small businesses. Now, as a Digital Content Producer at Visit San Jose, I craft stories that highlight the city's vibrant culture, small businesses, and attractions to inspire visitors.

Think of me as a marketing Swiss Army knife — whether it’s writing, video production, content strategy, social media, search engine optimization, webinar and podcast production, or event planning, I bring creativity and strategy to every project.

Outside of work, I host The Soul Fill, a podcast about women, their journeys, and the ways they fill their souls. I also enjoy traveling, antique shopping, home design, running, hiking, and staying active with barre and yoga — all while keeping up with my baby and two energetic German Shepherds!
